FAQ

1. Who can purchase this PADI-endorsed DAN Europe insurance?

Only renewed PADI Dive Centers / Resorts. This plan may be not available if your centre is based outside of the European Economic Area, Switzerland, Egypt or the Maldives.

2. What kind of coverage will I obtain from this plan?

General liability insurance for your centre and staff. It protects you in case of bodily injury or property damage suffered by your clients during diving activities.

3. We also hold non-PADI courses at my centre. Am I covered with regard to those as well?

Yes, you are. This general liability insurance also applies if you arrange dive courses with another training agency.

4. Are my staff members (instructors, dive masters) covered under the centre’s insurance?

  • They are covered for professional liability, as long as you register them on your MyDAN.
  • They are not covered for personal accidents, for which all PADI instructors and divemasters should have their own personal Pro Padi insurance.

5. Will my students benefit from dive accident coverage?

Yes, provided that:

  • you register them on your MyDAN before the course starts;
  • they are attending one of the following PADI courses: DSD, OWD, AOWD, Specialties, Rescue, Divemaster, Basic Freediver, Freediver, Advanced Freediver, Master freediver; or equivalent courses under other training agencies.

6. Does the liability insurance stay valid if I am not registering any student?

Yes, it does. Whether you provide your students with accident coverage or not, this does not affect your general liability insurance.

7. How does this PADI-endorsed plan differ from the standard DAN Europe Club Member plans?

It offers the same coverage as the Club Member Plus, with some important differences:

  • cheaper price;
  • free accident cover for your students up to divemaster course (Club Member Plus: up to OWD);
  • free accident cover for an unlimited number of students (Club Member Plus: max. 40 students per year);
  • specifically designed for PADI Dive Centers and Resorts.

8. What optional benefits can I add to this plan?

  • Dive Boat liability: this benefit protects your Dive Centre against legal liability as a result of accidental bodily injury or accidental property loss or damage suffered by your clients whilst they are on the dive boat.
  • Premises Liability: this option protects your Dive Centre against legal liability as a result of accidental bodily injury or accidental property loss or damage suffered by your clients whilst they within your premises.
  • Unlimited staff members: by adding this benefit, you will be able to register an unlimited number of staff members so that they are covered in terms of  liability.

9. I already have an active Club Member. Can I switch from my current plan to this one?

  • Yes, provided that the residual value of your current insurance is lower than the cost of the new plan.
  • To check whether you can update your insurance, try and purchase this plan via your MyDAN.
